Effective October 7, 2026
MadSwaps is operated by MadMana, LLC (“MadMana,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you play MadSwaps, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Account information. If you sign in with Google, Firebase Authentication (our authentication provider) shares your name, email address, profile picture, and a unique account identifier with us. We don't request or receive access to anything else in your Google account. You can replace your Google name with a display name you choose; your display name (never your email address) is the name other players see.
Daily-puzzle progress. Once you're signed in, our server records your daily-puzzle streak, star counts, and attempt status against your account after independently verifying that you actually solved (or failed) that day's puzzle — this is what lets us confirm your streak and unlock streak rewards without trusting anything your device claims on its own.
Local-only progress. If you play without signing in, your streak and daily-puzzle attempt state is stored only in your browser's local storage — it never reaches our servers. It stays on that device only, and is replaced by your account's synced data the first time you sign in.
Preferences. Gameplay preferences (like your auto-swap drag sensitivity) are stored against your account so they follow you across devices.
Party play. If you host or join a party lobby, we store your account identifier, your display name, your chosen in-game avatar (a combination of theme and tile style — not your Google profile photo), and match stats (rating, puzzles solved, swaps taken). This is visible to other players in the same lobby.
Friends. If you add friends, they can see your display name, your profile picture, and how the daily puzzle went for you today and on each of the previous six days (whether you've played, solved, or failed it, how many swaps a solve took, and whether you used an undo). A player you've sent a friend request to sees only your display name and profile picture until they accept. Nicknames you give your friends are private to you.
Groups. If you create or join a group, every member of that group can see the same things a friend can: your display name, your profile picture, and how the daily puzzle went for you today and on each of the previous six days. Anyone who has the group's code can join it. Leaving the group ends this.
Purchases. Premium subscriptions and cosmetic theme purchases are processed entirely by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number or billing details — Stripe tells us only that a payment succeeded, which product it was for, and your Stripe customer/subscription identifiers, which we use to grant the corresponding entitlement to your account.
Public scoreboard. Each day's puzzle has a public scoreboard showing how many players solved it at each swap count (and how many failed). This is an aggregate count only — it is never linked to your name, account, or identity, and anyone can view it without signing in.
Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how MadSwaps is played — for example, which pages are visited and which link or campaign someone arrived from, when a puzzle is solved or failed, when a score is shared, when someone signs in or starts a checkout, and when the app runs into an error. On your first visit we ask whether Google Analytics may set its cookies in your browser. If you accept, it sets them to recognize repeat visits from this browser. If you decline, or haven’t answered, it sets no analytics cookies and sends only cookieless pings that Google uses for aggregate statistics, never a record of you. Each event comes with standard device and browser information, such as device type and approximate location derived from your IP address. We don’t attach your name or email to them, and we don’t use them for advertising.
Abuse prevention. To keep automated scripts from flooding our servers or the public scoreboard, we use Firebase App Check with Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise, which evaluates signals from your browser and device when the app talks to our servers. Google’s use of that information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
We don't run advertising, and we don't use analytics data for advertising or to build a profile of you. We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone except the service providers below, to the extent needed to run MadSwaps.
We use Google Firebase for authentication, database storage, hosting, and usage analytics; Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise to protect against abuse; and Stripe for payment processing. Each handles data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments.
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and its data at any time from your profile, or ask us to by emailing the address below. Records of past payments are kept by Stripe as required for tax and accounting.
MadSwaps is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Gameplay-integrity data (your streak, purchases, and Premium status) can only ever be written by our servers, never directly by a signed-in player's own device — this protects your account data from tampering, whether by you or anyone else.
We may update this policy from time to time, and we'll update the effective date above when we do. If a change materially affects how we collect or use your information, we'll also tell you in the app, and by email if you have an account.
